‘Evil Eye’ opens today

Evil Eye, the new Mission Street bar and restaurant that took over the short-lived Coco Frio spot, officially opens today.
I stopped by with friends for Evil Eye’s soft opening last night, had some tasty drinks and snacks and loved the cozy vibe, complete with 1970s vintage furniture. One of my friends said it reminded him of the former Place Pigalle in Hayes Valley.
At 2937 Mission St., Evil Eye is owned by former Soluna bar manager Matt Norris and his wife Piper. Francis Hogan, formerly of Bluestem Brasserie and Soluna, is consulting chef.
The bar is open from 3:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 3 p.m. to midnight Friday through Sunday.
