Video: Men claim Zeitgeist booted them over Trump T-shirts

Two Trump supporters walk into a very San Francisco bar. Guess what happened next?

Yep, they got kicked out.

That’s the upshot of a video shared on social media Monday. It purportedly shows a man being “attacked” and booted from Zeitgeist, all because his friend was wearing a ‘Make American Great Again’ t-shirt.

But Gideon Bush, one of Zeitgeist’s managers, said the incident took place back in August and that it was the Trump supporters, not his staff, that were acting badly.

“We kind of pride ourselves on not discriminating against anyone,” he added. “We accept all people including people who like Donald Trump. We have people on our staff who like Donald Trump.”

In the description for the video posted on a pro-Trump YouTube channel, it says a female bartender refused to serve the two men after spotting the shirt and demanded they leave, calling them bigots. It also claims that a Zeitgeist security guard “threw a punch,” chased one of the men and tried to pry his phone out of his hand as he tried to film the encounter.

But Bush said one of the men made an inappropriate comment to the bartender which was what actually led to him getting kicked out. He denies security struck the man.

While the incident may amount to little more than a he said/she said, one thing is clear—when Zeitgeist say “no b.s.” on its website, I guess the bar means it.

Regardless what their political views are, what was said, or how it was said, the fact that a bouncer had chased them on the streets, put his hands on them on the streets, a PUBLIC AREA, and from the looks of it, actually made contact with the victims (yes, they are victims at that point) is enough to file battery and assault charges, and I would heavily suggest that Gideon terminate employment of those involved, make a public statement and save face. This IS San Francisco, everyone is liberal and “tolerant” as long as “tolerance” means you’re on the same political side, and nannying others behavior with your own brand of fascist leftist agenda. Unfortunately, that means we as a city have become worse than Trump supporters because we no longer value or uphold freedom, expressions, or statements. And for a punk-ironic shit hole dive bar in the Mission that frankly all Ive ever heard about was bad things, it’s quite atrocious of them not to see the irony in someone in the Mission coming in and wearing a shirt that says Make America Great, when in fact, what happened is one of the many reasons America is not as great, and certainly our city is not as great as it was just 10 years ago.

Wtf. You go to a bar, you cause a scene, the bouncer will kick you out. This happens fifty times a day in SF, Trump t-shirts or no. Get over it.

What is wrong with you? So much hate. Open your eyes, America is amazing and Zeitgeist, if you ever do go and hang out in their patio, is one of the best bars in SF. How do you judge a place you have not been to? One thing if it’s not for you but to hate it’s existence?
