Rain in San Francisco’ debuts, named Capp Street Crap’s theme song

Inspired by the stormy weather this weekend, @dunbar151 crafted this song, “Rain in San Francisco,’ about a rain-washed, nicer smelling Capp Street. Of course, I moved quickly to negotiate the rights. Here are the lyrics:

there’s a drought in california
of talk about the weather
and the elements that wait beyond the bay
from across the Farallon Islands
the devil’s teeth are spitting and they spray
and Mission Creek is flowing
Petrichor is rising up to say
Capp Street smells nice today
All the Capp Street Crap’s been washed away
Capp Street smells nice today
All the Capp Street Crap’s been washed away
A damper Mortar, Brick-N
A shroud around Coit Tower that is gray
It runs down Hyde, it’s battered, splattered,
My heart goes pitter-patter… but I left it in San Francisco
All the Capp Street Crap’s been washed away
Capp Street smells nice today
All the Capp Street Crap’s been washed away
but I see which way the wind blows
there’s rain in San Francisco
(that)
The Filbert Steps are slickened
Russian Hill is gushing still
Capp Street smells nice today
