Celebrating thirty years is an impressive feat for any business, and practically miraculous these days in San Francisco.

But Capp Street’s Uptown will do just that later this month with three nights of festivities highlighting bar regulars and employees past and present. The dive bar favorite will have more than just history to celebrate. Last month, Uptown’s employees announced they are buying the bar following the sudden death of owner Scott Ellsworth.

Here’s a rundown of the events, which take place Dec. 26 through 28 and are open to the public – provided you’re 21 or older:

Friday, Dec. 26 6 to 10 pm
Birthday reunion party
Celebrating Uptown founder Scott Ellsworth, current and former staff, regulars and all community members. Wear an Uptown t-shirt and pay 1984 prices!

Saturday, Dec. 27 – 6 pm
Musical review and barbeque
Featuring musicians who have called Uptown home over the years and a barbeque feast! Musicians already confirmed to play include Mindi Hadan, Douglas Katelus and Ivy & Devon

Sunday, Dec. 28 – 6 pm
Uptown salon
An evening of poetry and prose by local writers, hosted by Uptown bartender and poet Tym Butler.
